Slater Armstrong
Jack Slater Armstrong was born in Texas and raised in Louisiana as the oldest son of a small town Episcopal priest. Slater served the Lord in Youth With A Mission (YWAM) for 8 years leading worship and moving the heart of God’s people all over the world including such places as Alaska, Japan, Belgium, N. Ireland, France, Scotland, Canada, and all over the USA.
A gifted musician, singer and songwriter, Slater was featured on Integrity’s INTIMATE WORSHIP(2000). These songs were re-released on 13 compilation CD’s including Hymns4Worship (2004). His CD, EVEN IN SORROW, is a reflection of his heart for the nations and his love for and dedication to the persecuted church in Sudan. In 1999, Slater arranged and paid for cartage of all necessary recording equipment to be brought with him to Uganda and Sudan. The recordings on the CD feature Slater joining with villagers in Sudan worshipping the Lord in the midst of their unimaginable suffering. It serves as an incredible inspiration and encouragement to the people of God that we are to take up the Cross and rejoice in Him regardless of our circumstances.
Slater has a passionate, worshipful heart and a voice that sings with deep beauty and sincerity. His calling is in leading congregations to worship in Spirit and in Truth, and to come unmasked into the presence of God.
