Accommodations

The Main Lodge features air-conditioned dormitory style rooms with 2 bunk beds (4 beds in all). Each room has a sink with baths on the hall. The Lodge is the most convenient to the dinning room and meeting rooms. Linens and towels are not furnished. The New Retreat Center (NRC) has motel-style rooms with 2 double beds and a private bathroom with shower. Linens and towels are furnished. It is situated on a wooded hill across the road from the Main Lodge. Youth are housed with parents or guardian. NOTE: Building assignments will be given on a first-come, first-served basis. Scholarship campers will be housed in the Main Lodge.

Camping

Camp Sumatanga has ten RV electrical and water hookups. Each night is $15 per self contained vehicle. Campers have access to sanitary dumping and two bathhouses. Each bathhouse has 2 showers, 2 toilets and 2 sinks. While tent camping is available it is not recommended. Campers must pay registration fees.

What To Bring

All individuals should bring a Bible, alarm clock, casual clothes, comfortable shoes, watch, light wrap and toilet articles. Those taking advantage of recreation facilities should also bring appropriate attire and equipment. Please no radios, boom boxes, TVs, pets or video games. All those staying in the Main Lodge should bring pillows, sheets, blankets, and towels. Private bath and linens are furnished in the New Retreat Center (NRC).

Recreation

Recreation facilities abound at Alabama CFO. Activities include: canoeing, fishing, volleyball, fields for ultimate frisbee, swimming pool, tennis courts and hiking trails. Please bring your own equipment and appropriate clothing.

Meals

Three meals a day are served cafeteria style in Lodge dinning room. Meals are provided for Sunday, May 31 (supper) through Friday, June 5 (lunch). Arrival time and room assignments is from 2:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Sunday, May 31.
